Zeus (birthdate 9/15/22) was picked up as a stray by Animal Control in Burgettstown early July… this sweet, gentle Rottweiler was extremely thin, weighing only 55 pounds. When his stray hold was over, he was released to Pet Search.
After 7 weeks of good food, lots of love and zoomies in the yard, Zeus is now a very healthy 100 pounds. It was thought that Zeus has a sarcoma on his joints; however, they are non existent now! The “calloused” areas have all but disappeared as he is able to run and play. We believe that Zeus was most likely crated for long periods of time in a crate too small for him which caused these “sarcoma-like” lesions.
Zeus loves attention and is happiest when getting lots of love and kisses from his foster mom. He is now neutered, 4dx tested, vaccinated and microchipped. He needs work on leash walking and we are slowly introducing him to other dogs.
Zeus would be an incredible dog for a family that has a strong understanding of the stubborn Rottweiler mentality and is willing to continue to work with him on his leash walking.
