King (9/17/2023) is a handsome 30 pound lab mix who is sweet, playful and ready for his forever home. He recently arrived from St Thomas USVI and this is what the shelter has to say about this dynamic “coconut retriever”…

“King was an Owner Surrender 3/18 – didn’t have time for the dog
King is Small, fluffy and beautiful, King would make a great personal or family pet. He was resource (food) guarding when he first arrived but that has gone away now that he is getting regular meals and everyone is treating him well. He might act tough with another dog from a distance but when interacting he is the opposite; other dogs bite him in play and he does not give it back, just rolls and runs and has fun! His fur is soft and he is people friendly; enjoys company but without being overly needy of affection..”

King is Lyme and heartworm negative,neutered and fully vaccinated. He is housebroken and crate trained. He is being fed in his crate at this time until he gets comfortable in his foster home with other animals. We are working on his leash manners.
